What better way to end a Monday than to drink a lovely Spanish Jamilla Juan Gil (2012) vintage? This will be short and sweet, for a blog post. No need to move to social media for this one. For the last couple of days, I have been reading the ENTIRE blog of a newfound friend, laughed outloud, and wiped a tear at one particular poignant car/Auntie story. I have some catching up to do on my own blog. So, tonight, I share with you how I enjoyed this lovely Spanish red at a wine bar with a post-work friend. This bottle is a rich, dry, full bodied and yes, jammy Spanish red. Lovely, nice price point for a bottle out (<$35), and (thanks to a nice gift from the friend!!) completely enjoyable evening for a conversation about life, loves, passions, and many other truly meaningful topics. For those missing the weekly posts, my apologies, will fill in with a description of the dinner/wines from last Friday night, with old and new friends. Look for the next few posts to involve the last harvest at St. Genevieve vineyard (Monarch Hill Vineyard), cooking for the masses, and enjoying the fruits of the labor.
