Seriously, this might be the only post I ever do on a Chardonnay bottle of wine. For all of you who prefer the Chardonnay grape, this one may be for you. For those who do not prefer your whites heavily “oaked” this Chardonnay is definitely one you should give a try. This Grand Ardeche is honestly the ONLY Chardonnay I will drink. It doesn’t matter the year because it is fairly consistent year after year. This French vintner has the process down, since 1797! Smooth, very drinkable Grand Ardeche can be found for ~$13 right now for the 2012 vintage. It is dry, light fruit with pears coming forward, and lovely vanilla wafts on the nose. Perfect for the evening after a long (!) days work. If paired with food, it will stand up to chicken, but it is best with fish and more oily, buttery flavors.
